In 2010, Illesteva launched into the accessories market, crafting and vending high-end eyewear by partnering with small, family-owned factories in Italy and France. Illesteva’s eyeglasses are produced from bespoke acetate in an array of color blends, all handmade to ensure that each pair is unique. In addition to their quality eyewear, Illesteva has expanded their product line to leather bags and umbrellas.
The company's website exhibits the elegance of their products with a minimalist and contemporary design. The simple user interface offers customers an effortless and logical experience to browse and purchase products. Customers can quickly find the eyeglasses that fit their face most accurately with an easy measuring guideline. Furthermore, when purchasing prescription lenses, customers have the option to upload their doctor’s prescription and measure their pupil distance during the final stages of their order.
Delivering a high quality experience within an extremely limited timeframe has always been in the wheelhouse of our AMP Tech team. With just 3 weeks remaining prior to Black Friday 2017, the team was tasked with developing and launching Illesteva’s responsive, mobile-first, Ecommerce solution on the Shopify Plus platform, using a custom CMS.
Given the short timeline, the AMP Tech team dove straight in to develop and implement the Ecommerce solution for Illesteva. The primary goal was to create a simple, clean user experience to work across all devices. Integrating the multi-faceted Ecommerce platform for Illesteva helped to streamline the shopping experience, ultimately surpassing average monthly orders within the first four days of being live.
To improve the Ecommerce capabilities for Illesteva, we created several additional features to assist both the user's experience and data collection. Particularly, the development of a new shopping cart feature, order tracking feature, and a comprehensive data dashboard. The site now prompts customers to upload both their prescription details and pupil distance at checkout. This is a huge solve for customers who may not be able to wear the standard lenses and are not able to purchase Illesteva at a local retail location. Customers are also given an estimated date of when their product would arrive upon completion. An order tracking feature was also created to give the customer increased transparency while an order is being processed. We included a return management option for orders that didn't work out as expected. Meanwhile, the improved Ecommerce platform has the intuitive capabilities to collect, analyze and display the data for the Illesteva team.
