Why Facebook Says Your Video Ads Should Be Silent

According to recent Facebook research, if a video in a user’s feed starts playing sound loudly when people aren’t expecting it, four out of five people will react negatively to both the platform and the advertiser. As a result, Facebook recommends advertisers make videos that do not depend solely on sound. Yesterday they released a set of new features that will allow business to optimize their videos for silent viewing.
