TV Hits New Low as Favorite Way in U.S. to Spend Evening

Fifty years ago, 48% of the public said watching TV was their "favorite way of spending an evening"; this percentage has decreased steadily through the decades and now stands at a record-low 16%, according to a new survey by Gallup. With Americans looking at smartphones and tablets on a near-constant basis throughout the day, the idea of sitting down to watch TV at night as a special thing may have lost its glow.
