Nielsen to Use Facebook and Twitter in New Ratings System

Wednesday, Nielsen announced that it will include Facebook and Twitter conversations about TV programs in its ratings system. The new metric is called “Social Content Ratings”. The ratings will measure both traditional and streaming television during the time the show is televised and monitor conversations about programs around the clock.
