General Mills Ditched Artificial Colors and People Started Buying its Cereal Again

Last summer, General Mills made a commitment to remove all artificial flavors and colors from its cereals. As of January, the seven cereals (including Cheerios, Lucky Charms and Trix) that had recipe changes posted a 6% growth since their re-launch. This is good news for the cereal category, as people are increasingly moving towards on-the-go morning foods like breakfast sandwiches and yogurts.
