Facebook Messenger can now be your boarding pass on KLM flights

Facebook has been talking this past year about turning Messenger into a more than just a chat product, and a service being launched today in partnership with KLM Royal Dutch airlines illustrates exactly what that future looks like. If a user agrees while booking a ticket, KLM will start up a chat thread with the user on Facebook to send flight updates, booking confirmation and a digital boarding pass through Messenger. While digital boarding passes aren’t anything new, the brand’s presence on a one-on-one messaging app is - providing personalized services and support at ultimate convenience for their customers.

The airplane emoji just got 1,000x more popular.
